Aircraft Maintenance Technician Program Description Print E-mail

AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT TECHNICIAN PROGRAMS

 

The Airframe and Powerplant Technician programs prepare students for entry-level employment as aircraft mechanics.  Students may enroll on a part-time or full-time basis.  The programs also provide supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in the aviation industry.  All courses are FAA approved.  The tuition cost is approximately $4,500 (out of state tuition cost is approximately $17,600).  Prices are subject to change without prior notice.  The programs are listed below:

 

General (480 hours)

 

The General blocks of instruction are a prerequisite for the completion of the Airframe and/or Powerplant Technician Program.

 

Airframe Technician (960 hours)

 

The Airframe blocks of instruction provide an in-depth study of Airframe Structures and Systems.  Upon completion, students are qualified to take the FAA Airframe Technician examinations and obtain the Airframe Rating.

 

Powerplant Technician (960 hours)

 

The Powerplant blocks of instruction provide an in-depth study of Powerplant Theory/Maintenance and Systems.  Upon completion, students are qualified to take the FAA Powerplant Technician examination and obtain the Powerplant Rating.
