George T. Baker Aviation School is located at 3275 N.W. 42 Avenue, adjacent to the Miami International Airport. The school is a public, tax-supported institution authorized by the Florida Department of Education and operated by the Miami-Dade County Public School System. It is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the National Center for Aircraft Technician Training (NCATT) and is certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration under Part 147 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Certificate # CT9T072R.

New System to Streamline Registration PDF Print E-mail

Baker Aviation has instituted a new system to improve the efficiency and equity of current student registration.


Starting for the 2011-3 trimester, ALL current students must make an appointment online in order to see the registrar to register for his/her classes.

The process is simple:


1.    Visit www.bakeraviation.edu/registrationappointment
2.    Create a user account (do ASAP!)
a.    Upon initial creation of your account, an email will be sent to you to verify.
b.    Be sure to VERIFY your email – or you will not be able to make an appointment!
3.    After you have successfully created your account, you will be able to login and see the appointment system.
4.    On Saturday, March 31st at 0730, you will be able to login and select your appointment to come in and register.
5.    You must bring your registration paperwork (stamped either “REGULAR” or “PRIORITY”, appointment notification, and Baker ID with you to your appointment in the main office or you will not be able to register and will have to wait till April 16th, 2012.
6.    If you make more than one appointment, all of your appointments will be canceled and you will need to re-enter your appointment at whatever time is still available or wait till April 16th, 2012.
7.    If you miss your appointment, you will have to wait till April 16th, 2012, to register.

Mr. Munoz & Mr. Carter win $1,000 grant PDF Print E-mail

Congratulations! The Education Fund was pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Munoz and Mr. Carter as a 2011-2012 TEACHER MINI-GRANT recipient for their proposal, Motion in Flight Simulation, in the amount of $1,000.00.  Great job guys!  Which one of you is going to fly left seat?

 
Baker Receives $10K grant from ISTAT Foundation PDF Print E-mail

Mr. Carter does it again!  He recently entered into a competitive grant competition with the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) Foundation (http://www.istat.org/) and was awarded $10,000.  ISTAT stated that it, "finds your cause of great importance and we are happy to support your institution.  We believe you are an important member of the aviation community and are pleased to assist you in your continuing efforts."  Mr. Carter states that, "through the grant, high school students from each of our programs will combine their knowledge in the building of a FAA Level 3 approved full motion X-Plane Flight Simulator which will assist Baker Aviation in the achieving new programmatic objectives as set by industry."

 
Boeing Going to Baker PDF Print E-mail

There is a Boeing 737 at Baker!!!  On July 14th - Baker Aviation hosted a open house to celebrate the delivery of the Boeing 737.  Students and visitors were able to walk through the Boeing 737 and the American Airlines donated MD-82.  Additionally, there was a free BBQ, college representatives, industry leaders, etc. that visitors were able to meet and mingle with.  Thanks to Mr. Alan Munoz, we have some fantastic photos of the event that can be found at:
